Analysing VIBE magazine: Usher

Image:
- 3 colour scheme (black, yellow and blue)
- Low angle shot connotes dominance.
- Medium long shot: mise en scene: styled as a pilot, aeroplane in the background, pilot costume, aviators shades link to the pilot and the star status. White t-shirt reinforces star status. High key lighting connotes his star quality. 'USA' on the plane, patriotism (usher is an american icon)
Page layout: masthead is behind the cover star, the artist is more important than the magazine name.
'Usher' is the anchorage, is the biggest text.
On the skyline there are other stars, key selling point.
The front cover has a QR code and a barcode. Also the web URL.
Coverlines are aligned left. The font is simple and clean.
 '+' is the puff.

Image:
- Medium long shot, body language, mise en scene: clothing.
- Page layout: one column, ''features'' is the subheading, Features:
in depth longer articles. Page numbers in chronological order.
